Yes, after God knows how many months of silence I've returned from the dead! *bwhaha!* Ive brought you updates. This is one of the many projects I've been working on, my favorite Queen of all time: Mary I of England (1518-1558) We are so much alike for many various reasons and if you ask..maybe I'll tell them to ya! I did this entirely with one mechanical pencil, nothing special, just the kinda brands you can find at duane reade or staples. It was too big to fit on my scanner, but at least you can get a sense of the "meat" of the piece. :) Enjoyyeeee

Oh, you like Mary Tudor! That's great. One of my best friends loves her too, and talks about her all the time. Have you ever read "Mary, Bloody Mary" by Carolyn Meyer? It's a fine YA novel narrated by Mary herself, with cover art by the amazing Teresa Fasolino. [link] If you don't have a copy yet, you should get one soon- it's very good.

As for the drawing itself, it's excellent! And don't listen to that other chick. I don't think that every centimeter of a drawing or painting has to be rendered like Keith Parkinson to be good. Your style actually reminds me of some of Andrew Wyeth's sketches.

Looking at this, makes me think I should upload my own sketch of Mary T. that I did when I was at the Prado!
